CFH First Draft: Ann Callin Campbell

Ann Callin is the 12th person in a descendant report beginning with the earliest known ancestor of our Callin family, (1.) James Callin. This descendant report uses the Register Style of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society.

Third Generation

12. Ann Callin (John-2, James "1st"-1) was born on 16 Sep 1806 in Pennsylvania. Ann and Henry Campbell were married on 20 Aug 1833. Henry Campbell was born about 1811 in Pennsylvania. They lived on a farm in Milton Township, Richland County, Ohio, which became part of Ashland County in 1846; they eventually retired to Ashland.

Henry served in Company C of the 63rd Regiment of the Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He died on 4 Apr 1880 at the age of 69 in Ashland and was buried in Zaleski, Vinton County, Ohio. Mary Ann lived in Ashland where she died on 18 Mar 1889 at the age of 82.


Henry Campbell and Ann Callin had five children:


38 i. Cyrus C Campbell, born 23 Mar 1834, Ohio; married Ursulla A Springer, 4 Jul 1859, Ashland County, Ohio; died 21 Sep 1872.

39 ii. Harrison M Campbell, born 8 Dec 1837, Ohio; married Catherine Hoot, 9 Nov 1865, Ashland, Ohio; died 27 Dec 1924, Washington, Oregon.

iii. Elizabeth Campbell was born on 30 Jun 1840, Ohio, and lived in Milton and Ashland, Ohio, her entire life. She died on 8 Feb 1897 and was buried in Ashland.

40 iv. Frances A Campbell, born 30 Mar 1842, Ashland, Ohio; married John Bently Hoot, 20 Feb 1862, Ashland, Ohio; died 27 Mar 1905, Columbus, Franklin, Ohio.

v. Cornelia Campbell was born on 13 Oct 1843 in Ashland, Ohio, and died on 13 Mar 1849 at the age of 5.
