Howard H Scott is the 105th person in a descendant report beginning with the earliest known ancestor of our Callin family, (1.) James Callin. This descendant report uses the Register Style of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society.

Fifth Generation
105. Howard H Scott (Cyrus H-4, Sarah Callin-3, John-2, James "1st"-1) was born on 30 Jan 1867, probably on his parents' farm in Harrison Township. He was about ten years old when they moved to New Albany, Story County, Iowa, but they were back in Illinois by 1895.
Howard married Eva Estelle Conklin in 1895. Eva was born on 25 Jan 1874 in Illinois, the youngest daughter of Henry W Conklin (1827–1901) and Alvalina Grover (1833–1923). She grew up in Rockford. (Eva was the great-aunt of Willard Swan Conklin, the husband of the ill-fated Helen J. Sharp.)
Howard farmed in Owen township before moving to Shirland township, where he farmed for many years. He and Eva raised their two sons there.
Howard died on 13 Aug 1951 at the age of 84 and was buried in Shirland Cemetery in Winnebago County, Illinois. His obituary ran in the Rockford Morning Star on 14 Aug 1951.
“Howard Scott Dies; Retired Area Farmer
“Shirland -- Howard A. Scott, 85, retired, Shirland township farmer, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday following a heart attack. He was born Jan. 30, 1867, and farmed in Owen township before moving to Shirland township. Surviving are the widow Eva; two sons, Frank and William, both of Beloit; a brother, Samuel, Harrison; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral arrangements are being completed at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer mortuary, Beloit.”
Eva died on 10 Mar 1963 at the age of 89 and was buried in Shirland Cemetery with her husband. Her obituary appeared in the Rockford Register-Republic on 12 Mar 1963.

“Shirland -- Mrs. Eva Scott, 89, of Shirland, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday in Beloit Municipal Hospital. She had lived all of her life in the Shirland area. She is survived by two sons, William and Frank, both of Beloit; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Arrangements are being made by Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Funeral Home in Beloit.”
Howard H Scott and Eva Estelle Conklin had the following children:
326 i. Francis Owen Scott, born 1 Oct 1897, Illinois; married Irene Gladys Hull, 9 June 1920, Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois; died 4 Nov 1973, Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin.
327 ii. William Henry Scott, born 8 Oct 1899, Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Pearl Gladys Mythaler, 11 July 1928, Nashua, Chickasaw County, Iowa; died 2 Apr 1988, Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin.
