Fourth Generation
59. Mary Ann Callin (James-3, John-2, James "1st"-1) was born on 10 Mar 1840 and grew up in New London, Huron County, Ohio in 1850. Mary Ann and Elliot Glyde Day were married on 3 May 1860 in Huron County, Ohio. Glyde was the son of Moses Ransom Day (1806–1880) and Sarah Jane Booth (1815–1877), born on 9 May 1834 in Vermont. Glyde still lived in Underhill, Chittenden, Vermont in 1850, though his father had gone to Ohio and was living in the Kellogg household, next door to Mary Ann and her family. This suggests that the Days moved from Vermont to Ohio soon after.
Glyde and Mary Ann lived in New London where Glyde managed a farm and raised horses. Eventually, they took in Mary Ann’s sister, Sabra, who was blind. Mary Ann died on 20 Nov 1900 at the age of 62 and was buried in the Day Cemetery near New London. Elliot died on 16 Aug 1907 at the age of 73 and was buried in his family cemetery.
Elliot Glyde Day and Mary Ann Callin had three children:
209 i. Estella Lillian Day, born 23 Feb 1862, Ohio; married William Benson King, 17 Dec 1885, Huron, Ohio; died 28 Jul 1912, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
ii. Clarence C Day was born on 4 Oct 1876 and died on 8 Jan 1877 in Rochester, Lorain County, Ohio.
210 iii. Thor Glyde Day, born 8 Nov 1880, New London, Huron, Ohio; married Donna Belle Carl, 12 Nov 1901, New London, Huron, Ohio; died 1 Mar 1904, New London, Huron, Ohio.
