CFH First Draft: Jasper Thomas Dobson

Jasper Thomas Dobson is the 114th person in a descendant report beginning with the earliest known ancestor of our Callin family, (1.) James Callin. This descendant report uses the Register Style of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society.

Fifth Generation

114. Jasper Thomas Dobson (Lucina Scott-4, Sarah Callin-3, John-2, James-1) was born on 20 Nov 1881 in Dekalb County, Illinois.

Jasper married Anastacia Cecilia "Anna" Leary on 30 Sep 1903 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Anna was a daughter of Moses Leary (1856–1913) and Bridget Ann Markham (1857–1921), and was born on 27 Dec 1885 in Ogle County, Illinois. She grew up in Rockford.

            After they married, Anna and Jasper lived in Rockford, where he mainly worked as a carpenter. They had fourteen children between 1904 and 1929.

Anastacia died on 22 Dec 1957 at age 71 in Loves Park, and was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, Winnebago County, Illinois. Jasper died on 13 Jan 1968 at age 86 in Loves Park, and was buried with his wife.

       354        iii.   Harold T Dobson, born 30 Mar 1909, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Agnes May Jordan, abt 1935; died 13 Sep 1992, Loves Park, Winnebago County, Illinois.

       355        iv.   Mary Eunice Dobson, born 20 Mar 1910, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Charles Kenneth Gear, 18 June 1942, Pierce County, Washington; died 27 July 1997, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois.

       356         v.   Clement Cyril Dobson, born 27 Mar 1911, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Ellen Josephine Hildebrand, 1933, Boone County, Illinois; died 17 Sep 1991, Pomona, Los Angeles County, California.

       357        vi.   Catherine Fern Dobson, born 6 Dec 1912, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Ellsworth Robert Porter, abt 1932; married John George Nacvich, 20 Apr 1946, Winnebago County, Illinois; died Aug 1967, Oskaloosa, Jefferson County, Kansas.

                   vii.   Francis Loretta Dobson was born on 4 Mar 1914 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois. She died in Rockford on 29 Mar 1935 at age 21 and was buried on 1 Apr 1935 in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

       358      viii.   Bridgett Ann Dobson, born 17 July 1916, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Clifford Elliot Youngs; died 18 Nov 1985, Dallas County, Texas.

       359        ix.   Elizabeth Dorothy Dobson, born 23 Mar 1919, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Raymond Anthony McCrea, 11 June 1938, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois; died 14 June 2010, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois.

       360         x.   Bernard Joseph Dobson, born 5 May 1920, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Naomi Ruth Chester on 18 Apr 1942 in Canton, Lewis, Missouri; died 29 Sep 1986, Port Allen, West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.

                    xi.   Joseph Edward Dobson was born on 18 Dec 1922 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois, and enlisted in the U.S. Army on 17 October 1942. He was honorably discharged on 27 November 1945 from the 96th General Hospital. He lived with his parents in Rockford, at least until 1948. He died on 27 Aug 1954 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Rockford.

                  xiii.   Margaret Rose Dobson was born on 12 Aug 1925 in Winnebago County, Illinois. She lived in her parents' home in Rockford until at least 1948. She died on 30 Mar 1976 at age 50 in Loves Park, Winnebago County, Illinois.

       362      xiv.      William Patrick Dobson, born 29 Apr 1929, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois; married Betty Jean Badura, 23 Oct 1946, Indiana; married Louise Rosa McIlvoy, 6 Apr 1966, Weber, Scott County, Virginia; died 16 Aug 1997, Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois.
