Lovina Callin is the 38th person in a descendant report beginning with the earliest known ancestor of our Callin family, (1.) James Callin. This descendant report uses the Register Style of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society.

Fourth Generation
38. Lovina Callin (George-3, John-2, James "1st"-1) was born in 1839 in Union County, Ohio, and grew up on her parents’ farm in Peru Township, Huron County, Ohio. Lovina and Edward C. Rickey were married on 24 Oct 1855 in Huron County, Ohio. Edward, son of John Rickey and Bertha (or Bethiah) Howell, was born on 1 Apr 1831 in New Jersey. His family relocated to Peru Township by 1850.
Lovina and Edward lived in Ridgefield, Huron County, Ohio in 1860. Edward enlisted in Feb 1865 in the 192nd Regiment, Ohio Infantry, and was discharged that September.
Lovina died on 12 Jul 1877 at the age of 38 in Williams County, Ohio, having given birth to the couple’s third child in June; the baby only survived to September. Lovina was buried in Cogswell Cemetery near Montpelier, Williams County, Ohio.
Edward remarried Anna Salome Tressler (1851–1935) and they lived in Bridgewater, Williams County, Ohio. They had one daughter, Florence A. Rickey (1884–1969). Edward died on 23 Oct 1896 at the age of 65 and was buried in Cogswell Cemetery near his first wife and infant son.
Edward C. Rickey and Lovina Callin had three children:
122 i. Clayton E Rickey, born 22 Nov 1858, Ohio; married Sadie B Taylor, 1 Oct 1887, Allen County, Indiana; married Ellen Teeple, 15 Dec 1892, Noble County, Indiana; died abt 1925, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana.
123 ii. Willis L Rickey, born 6 Jun 1864, Ohio; married Cora Shoffer, 16 Jun 1888, Williams County, Ohio; married Hannah Drusilla Crouse, 3 Aug 1904, De Kalb, Indiana; died Feb 1935, Parker City, Randolph, Indiana.
iii. Infant Son Rickey was born on 27 Jun 1877 in Bridgewater Township, Williams County, and died on 12 Sep 1877.
