CFH First Draft: Louvina Callin Hall

Louvina Callin is the 25th person in a descendant report beginning with the earliest known ancestor of our Callin family, (1.) James Callin. This descendant report uses the Register Style of the New England Historic and Genealogical Society.

Louvina Callin (Hugh-3James "2nd"-2, James "1st"-1) was born on 4 Mar 1840 in Iowa. Her father died when she was about five years old, and she grew up with her mother, sister, and nieces in the part of Fredonia that was later organized as Concord Township.

            Louvina married Thomas R S Hall on 4 Feb 1858 in Muscatine County, Iowa. Thomas was born in Jun 1834 in Ohio; his father was born in Virginia and his mother in Ohio. They lived with her family in Concord in 1860, relocating to Sparland, Marshall County, Illinois, by 1862. Their children were born in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, but by 1885, they had settled with their children in Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska. Thomas likely died about 1903, and Louvina went to live with her daughter’s family in Mount Pleasant, Atchison County, Kansas.

Louvina died on 7 Apr 1915 in Lafayette, St Louis, Missouri, and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Louvina Callin and Thomas Hall had the following children:

                      i.   Abram Hall, born abt 1861 in Iowa.

        82         ii.   Ida JaneHall, born 26 May 1862, Illinois; married William Fillmore Jackson, 21 Apr 1877, Louisa County, Iowa; died 28 Jan 1942, Atchison, Atchison, Kansas.

                    iii.   Mary E Hall, born abt 1864 in Indiana.

        83        iv.   JohnH Hall, born Jan 1867, Illinois; married Etta Heaney, 30 Jun 1888, Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska; married Evalyn M George, 9 Sep 1900, Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska; died 18 May 1930, Lafayette County, Missouri.

        84         v.   BerthaOlive Hall, born 1872 • Illinois; married Albert B Sisco, 21 Apr 1889, Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska; died Dec 1897, Gage County, Nebraska.

        85        vi.   MaudeC. Hall, born 18 Oct 1876, Iowa, married John D Black, 18 Jan 1898, Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska; died 10 Jan 1950, Odessa, Lafayette, Missouri.
